About Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 Srinagar

This Vidyalaya was established in 1986 with classes I-V inside BSF Campus Panthachowk and is functioning up to class XII. The new building has been constructed with the expenditure of more than 5crores having all the modern state of art facilities, which is only of its kind among all KVs of this valley. This Vidyalaya is fulfilling its commitments to make the children a good citizen of the nation. Besides quality education, the students are given full exposure in the field of co-curricular activities, music, games and sports, drawing and painting, science exhibition, musical arts, social science exhibition, cultural activities. The Vidyalaya is fully equipped with all the necessities accepting the challenge of fast moving and changing educational system of the global world. Our main objective is to inject the spirit of National Integration among the children to make them true citizens of the nation.

About the Kendriya Vidyalaya Family:

On the recommendation of the 2nd Central Pay Commission in 1962 to provide common education with common syllabus and curriculum to the children of transferable Central government employees including defence personnel, the Ministry of Education, Government of India took over 25 regimental school run by defence establishment and converted into Central schools in 1963. Later on these Central School were rechristened as Kendriya Vidyalayas and as on today near about 900 Kendriya Vidyalayas through the breadth and length of our country meet the needs of a common education to the children of transferable Central Government Employees defence and project personnel. This phenomenal growth of KV is due to its popularity and rapid stride in all key areas of present (day education reforms and has come to be recognized as pivotal institutions striving to rise the quality of education at school level. K. V.’s. have improved there infra-structure facilities and education in all its sphere so much that today no educational organization is there in competition.
